Just Play Program



We OWE it to our kids to help them become the best version of themselves, physically and spiritually. PDA's Just Play program consists of 60 minutes of "hard core" play! The class is a non competitive class where kids are trying to beat their own best time (rather than comparing themselves to others). We track every child's individual progress rather than measuring them against another child. The class utilizes obstacle courses, relay races, non competitive sports games, balance/strength moves , etc. to motivate and challenge the participants. Most importantly, the class is FUN!

The Objective of the Just Play Program



Studies have conclusively proven that children who engage in vigorous exercise 3-4 days per week are happier, have a higher frustration tolerance, have higher self esteem and perform better in school. In addition, the government recommends 60 minutes of vigorous activity for children a minimum of 4 days/week.

We are now seeing higher rates of depression among children, a lack of concentration and engagement at school and increasing amounts of overweight children. Most importantly, a rising number of kids simply are not "happy." They do not believe in themselves. They have lost the ability to just play.

The problem with our current state of youth activity is that there is no middle ground. We have children as young as 6 being "recruited" to play club sports and then we have overweight

tweens being told to just "take a family walk" in order to get the requisite exercise. We need a place where kids can go and play vigorously; to train hard without the pressures of performing and to have FUN moving their bodies!!

Data has shown that an increase in a child's self esteem is directly related to his belief in his ability to master a situation. The Just Play Program is individualized so that every child is challenged and then given the tools to conquer that challenge.

Most importantly, the class is FUN! Because the environment of the class is non judgmental and there is no winning/losing, our participants can focus on the enjoyment that comes from moving their bodies and pushing their limits. This is a one of a kind class!
